Protect Your Energy. Protect Your Peace.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Protect yourself mentally the way you protect yourself physically. With the 2017 - 2018 school year coming full speed around the corner it is extremely important to know how to put yourself first.

As we all get older it is becoming more and more important to find out who we are and the kind of people we want to be. If we can recognize ourselves for who we really are and the people we are on the road to becoming we will be able to see our energy in a physical state; represented by the people we have around us and the doors and windows we pry open and jump through.

Your energy is sacred. Treat it that way. Your energy is the color you imagine your mind being; it is the shapes you see in stars; it is the poems that make you cry; it is everything that you have overcome to be where you are today; your energy is your peace. The energy you carry is supposed to lead you to the life you are meant to live, and it would be a crime to let anything or anyone deprive you of the life you were meant to have.

Protect your energy. Protect your peace. Do not be afraid to let toxic people go. No matter how long someone is around if he or she does not push you in the direction you want to go in they are not beneficial to your life, therefore detrimental to your peace. It is a lesson I have had to learn over and over again and will probably come back to again. We sometimes have a bad habit of allowing people to use up our energy because we think they mean well and they'll soon change because the energy we have is supposed to help them do that; but everyone has their own mind and their own heart.

Sometimes that girl that everyone else is friends with is exactly that, and that guy everyone else wants is exactly that. Do not let other people's expectations of you steer your life. PROTECT YOUR PEACE. You do not have to do anything or be anything that makes you uncomfortable for people to see you. The right people will see you for you and you don't want anyone else in your life anyway. Be yourself in the unapologetic state. Be the kind of person that leads expecting no one else to follow, and watch your blessings pour.

"You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden. People don't hide a lamp under a bowl. They put it on a lamp stand. Then the light shines for everyone in the house. In the same way you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in Heaven." - Mathew 5:14-16 ERV

I have prayed time and time again for God to open my eyes to things and people holding me back and for Him to give me the strength to do away with those toxic relationships, and over and over again He has shown me everything I needed to see. Talk to God before anyone else. Talk to God about yourself, your friends, your family, your job. Talk to God and take action to protect your peace because "faith without works is dead" (James 2:26).
